Hurricane Ike Knocks The Wind Out Of DBS Jam

Many jammers and members stayed home to secure their home and be with their families. That’s the way it should be.
The rest of us carried on in your name! The DBS Blues Board opened the show and then the jammers took over with some great combos and a lot of great blues. In addition, the DBS had the first ever DBS members meeting before the jam!!!

Jammers included John Hack of bass and guitar, Gary “Guitar” Williams, Gerry Green, Miss Lissa, Gale Brown, Mike Safreed, JoAnn Hampton-Moat, and ZBone.

Special thanks to … Mike Safreed for supplying his amps, Mike Jordon for bringing his keyboard, John Wright for donating the new DBS decals, and to Chuck Purcell for the donation of the Muddy Waters etching (won by Steve Wright). Also on hand were a couple of fine gentlemen from our jam sponsor, Willis Music, who had a table set up with a silent auction on a couple of nice guitars and registration for a $100 gift certificate.

A big thanks to those of you who volunteered to help at this months jam. It is going to be essential to have a pool of volunteers as the society grows and the events we attempt become larger. Winter Fest is something we hope to be big and well organized. It will take a much larger group to pull it off.
